These are the skills and attributes we look for when recruiting:
Excellent customer care skills
Being a good instructor involves much more than just knowing the contents of an anatomy and physiology textbook. It involves dealing with people - many of whom are newcomers to exercise and feel nervous and unsure about using a fitness centre. To be a Sona instructor, you must be outgoing, friendly, helpful, empathetic, approachable and knowledgeable.
A recognised industry qualification:
- Sports Science degree/ masters
- A recognised industry qualification such as Premier, YMCA
- NVQ or Diploma in sports related topics
In addition, an ability to teach exercise to music classes is an advantage.
